Donna Daley

 

Donna Daley is the coauthor, with Julie Halston, of the Heinemann title Monologues for Show Offs (2008). She has worked extensively as actress and is coauthor of Mama Drama (Samuel French), originally produced Off-Broadway at the Ensemble Studio Theatre and the Cleveland Play House, where she created the role of Lizzie. She is the author of “Sandi’s Agreement” in Best Scenes for the 90s (Applause Theatre and Cinema Books). She developed and directed Beat: A Subway Cop’s Comedy, which had an eight-month Off-Broadway run and which was developed into a sitcom for UPN. She was a cofounding member of the CNL Collective under the auspices of Women’s Interart, where she wrote, developed, and acted in numerous plays. Her play The Misconception of Iggy was presented at Polaris North, MCC and The Actor’s Studio with Anne Meara. She developed and directed the NYC production of Stephanie Musnick’s one-woman show A Saint for All Wash Cycles. She was a contributing writer and created voices for such animated series as Sky Dancers and Dragon Flyz on ABC, Van-pires on FOX, and Happiness: The Secret of The Loch, which were the recipients of the Dove Foundation Award, the Family Circle Choice Award, and the Video Humanitarian Award, respectively. Donna was a 2004 Writer in Residence at the New Harmony Project with her play Deeply Shallow. She lives in New York City, where she coaches and writes tailor-made monologues for individual actors. She has collaborated with Julie Halston on several projects including the animated short “Open Call” and are currently working on the follow-up book Scenes for Show-Offs.
